To achieve the recycling targets of government legislation, your car will go through a number of processes at various
facilities
throughout the UK.
The whole process starts at an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF). These
businesses
have set-up the necessary infrastructure and systems to ensure they can recover hazardous materials from the car to the requirements of the legislation. Only a registered facility is legally able to receive your End of Life Vehicle and issue a Certificate of Destruction to the DVLA; removing the vehicle from their database and ensuring you no longer have any legal responsibility.
